Swallow Season

The sky is now full of darting swallows, dipping and soaring over the wildlife pond for insects and teaching their fledgelings to fly.

Introducing Accommodation

The restoration of our Cornish cob cowshed is now complete and we’re looking forward to the grand opening of the Novel English Dormitory in August!

Year of the Lupins!

The garden has been overwhelmed by lupins this summer, as well as foxgloves of over 6ft in height! As ever, the rose garden is also looking splendid.

August Children’s Literature Course

Shakespeare Kicks Off!

Our July Shakespeare course begins in 10 days’ time- this month’s course highlights Othello, Measure for Measure, The Winter’s Tale and The Taming of the Shrew.

Happy Holiday Makers

We’ve had a busy season so far at Chough Cottage, with happy reviews from all our holiday makers, who have been enjoying the lovely weather here on the Lizard.

Vegetable Season has arrived!

The ‘Trelugga’ vegetable garden is giving us a huge variety of produce now that summer is in full swing; lettuce, beetroots, broad beans, peas, carrots, courgettes and celery are amongst the veggies that we’re enjoying at the moment!

Spring is here!

Spring has truly arrived at ‘Trelugga’ and the garden is getting more and more colourful every day, with the tulips, bluebells and primroses blooming all about. Even the roses and the fruit trees dotted around the lawns are in bud! At the moment we have been enjoying a lot of sunshine which makes a day sitting in the garden so much more enjoyable! The hawthorn is also now in full blossom in the area, and its delicate, sweet-smelling white flowers are making the hedgerows and lanes around the house look beautiful!

Converting the cowshed!

The ‘Trelugga’ cowshed now has a flat concrete floor, thanks to the work from some local builders (and Nick’s planning!). We are in the midst of converting it into a comfortable and rustic dormitory with camp beds and its own shower room. At the moment, we have plumbers busy working on the shower room, which is located right next-door, with lovely views over the fields at the back of the house.
